subs stuck on screen and wont clear

I've download some subs in .sub format. During the testing part, I noticed that some lines were missing from the movie. So what I did was copied a few of the lines from another part of the movie and edited the text to match the movie using sub resync. Now when I get to that part of the movie that contains the new subs that I've copied it keeps stacking the subtitle text on top of one another instead of clearing from the screen. Is there a way to fix this? Or is there another way of adding lines of text into the sub without copying, which is might have caused the problem to begin with. I used standard notepad in windows to cut and paste since the sub file has been ocr'd.

what I understand from the post is that u r missinng the end timecode that would erase the offending subs from screen, or u have added a permanent one by not utilising the correct flag. Any way I would need the sub file in order to pinpoint the actual nature of the error.

Actually I figured it out it was because the 2nd number was too high leave the sub on the screen until it met its correct number. i.e

correct timing:
{3905}{3937}We're French sailors!
{3937}{4020}- We seek medical attention!|- Come on. Come on.
{4020}{4101}- We come in peace.|- Come on.

bad timing (look at 2nd number):
{3905}{17565}We're French sailors! <---------
{3937}{4020}- We seek medical attention!|- Come on. Come on.
{4020}{4101}- We come in peace.|- Come on.

It was waiting for frame 17565 before clearing off the screen. So I just adjusted the ones that I copied so that the 2nd number was the same as the next starting frame.
