I have this problem with a movie I encoded a while ago. I ripped the subtitles as always, and put them with the movie in the same folder. I did sth with vobsub and now every time I play that movie, I always see the subtitles without enabling them in the player. And I know that they aren't burnt in, because if I open the movie in Virtualdub, they don't show up. Now, that's ok with me, but how can I make the same with every movie, or disable it for some movies?

Hi-

If it's a movie where you usually don't play those subs, you can change the name slightly, and they won't show up. But a better solution perhaps, is to right click the green arrow in the lower right of the desktop and hit Hide Subtitles.

Hi-

...why does it auto-load?

Because it's the auto-loading version. :) Maybe this from the dvobsub.txt will help:

Q: My subtitle files are burnt on the CD, but I'd like to watch without them.

A:
- Select "Hide Subtitles" under mediaplayer 6.x's "Language" submenu.
- Access the filter's property page and check "Hide subtitles".
- regsvr32 /u DVobSub.ax.
