Does anyone know where I can find a bunch of Character Matrix files for SubRip? I reformatted my hard drive this last week and forgot to back up my .sum files.

same f**** sh*t (sorry) just happened to me ... formatted my harddisk. somebody please slap me (hard)!!! gosh, i'm going crazy. i had character matrix files from 100+ rips. it was soooooo comfortable.

somewhere to download?
somebody to e-mail me some of theirs? speedamigo@gmx.net
why not create some collection online?

the matrixes i had before they got lost:( :mad: :scared: :stupid: saved me GREAT time since they were like veterans :p and almost every new movie matched with one of them.

Speaking of character matrix files, what's the easiest way to edit the matrix so that globbed characters can be separated, and partial characters can be extended. This happened big time on The Hunted and The Quiet American, and I had to spend 10 minutes editing the SRT files. Here are two examples:

at is decoded as one character due to zero kerning

W is decoded as 3 characters due to gaps in the stroke

% is decoded as 2 or more characters because the parts are not connected

Updated 9-18-03: Confessions of a Dangerous Mind gets the top award for a movie with the most OCR errors generated during subripping. It takes over 20 minutes of heavy duty editing with a word processor to eliminate these errors. The letter n is the biggest problem.

I've tried your link and it worked fine, but my pc crashed, and now I wanna download these matrixes again from fterazza or whatever it's called, and the adress does not exist anymore! HELP!!!

Yes, I did.
I downloaded SubRip 1.50 and the matrix works fine if i use that version. But I want to use older versions because 1.50 hasn't got a setup file.

That's because it doesn't need a setup file because it's a standalone exe. Why do you need one?

Yes, it's a file that contains all the picture to character matches that have been done through the OCR process. It definitely provides the convenience of not needing to retype out things again if you need to re-rip those subtitles and it can be reused for other DVD subtitles that share the font/size.
