Karaoke Sweeping Effect Setting Not Holding

Heya guys,

I'm using Substation Alpha and I'm trying to get the karaoke to give the sweeping effect so that it gradually fills the entire word but I'm having a problem where the entire word is being highlighted instead of the word being gradually filled up.

I know, I've read the help file and there is a setting for it under "Options->Preferences->Transition FX". But choosing the 2nd option after checking the box doesnt give me that effect. Actually choosing any of the 3 gives me the same effect. It's as if these changes dont make a difference.

Has anybody else been unable to implement the sweeping karaoke effect? I just met someone else in a chatroom that's having the same problem.

If you're playing your script trought vobsub the fill-word-efect must be \K not \k. Open your script and manually change the \k to \K

That was it.

So for every "k" ( there is like 80 of them ) I need to manually change them to "K"? If so that's cool... just wondering if there is an easier way of doing it other than by singling them all out... maybe with find.

So this is a bug with vobsub? Gawd, been stuck on this for hours. Thanks so much.

Hi-

It's easy to do it all at once. Open Sub Station Alpha and the SSA file. Then go Edit-Replace-Search For \k-Check the Case Sensitive Box-Replace With \K. I've only used it with the \n and \N before, but I don't see why it wouldn't work with \k and \K also. It's faster than using Find-Find Next.
