I have a DVD-9 title which has subtitles that you can't turn off. Is there a way to strip them in IfoEdit.

If u does not want a specific sub stream, u can strip it in Ifoedit and u r done.
If the subs r part of a stream, like in case when there is a foreign language heard in a movie, strippign will erase the rest of the subs u want to keep.
There r situations when these subs r burnt in to movie, (they r no subs at all) , technically speaking, and u can't get rid of them.
If u re-author u can do anything that u want. But this was not your intention in the 1st place after all.

IfoEdit detects an unknown substream in the menu. But using third party programs i can manually extract the bmps. Is there any way to fix this.

now that u have the bmps in hand u can reauthor the project leaving this part out. If u need the rest of the subs u must use a sub capable authoring programm, if u don't u can use spruceup or similar one. There r plenty of guides on the site for this. If u need help I can allways help. Don't hesitate to ask.

The program only copies the bmp's, if you know of one that will permanently extract them that would be helpful
