rawsub subtitles are useless???

hey there

i searched all over doom9 but found nothing on that matter

following:

i have ripped a dvd with smart ripper, streaming mode

demuxed audio and subtitles to an seperate file and new vobs for the video

now my problem is, i can't extract the subtitels, because they are in a extra file (the rawsub file)

is there a way to extract them or to burn them into the divx video i want to create with gknot???

because i rented the dvd i can't rip the dvd again :(

would be cool, maybe there is a way to convert them into a other format, that i can display them with an filter or so...

Change extension to *.VOB for ripping with Smartripper.

It maybe functional.

Ok, ripping the subtitle stream out of the vob was your first mistake.

What you want to do is rip the vobs & ifos right off the dvd, dont fiddle with stream processing or anything it will probably take longer to process the streams than to just copy them to disk.

once the dvd is ripped to the hdd intact. click the subtitles tab on gknot.

click the configure button, then the open... button on the window that pops up.

change the type you are opening to ifo/vob and select the ifo for the dvd.

click ok & point it to where you want the subtitles saved.

do all the gknot stuff.

in the save and encode tab, point the "select vobsub files" box at the subtitles you just created.

the best solution may be to read the fine tutorials on the doom9 website.

but i guess you didn't get the point...

i rented the dvd so i can't rip it again... and i know how it usually works, but no i have only the rawsub files, so is it possible to use them???

Sorry to give the bad news, but AFAIK it is "not" possible to use them; or even if it is, so far I haven't found a bit of information anywhere on that issue either :).

And just out of curiosity: If someone knows a way to do sth. with that type of file, I would also be pleased to learn that ;).

Italian for Beginners (Italiensk for begyndere)

i just need the german subtitles for the italian part of the movie
