SVCD PC player & .SSA script (or .sub .srt)

I want to use my own SVCD on the PC and see the subs from the .ssa or .sub or .srt files i made. Any suggestion?

PowerDVD and WinDVD play correctly all my SVCD but don't display subtitles (CVD or SVCD subs) and also don't display .ssa or .srt .sub files.
DVD Subber and BSPlayer display correctly the subs but cannot play the SVCD video files.

Any hint?

U must wait for the further develop of WinDVD/PowerDVD, perhaps in the next version(5.0) or never.
Or sbd. hack the .dlls of WinDVD/PowerDVD and implement such a thing. But this is very unlikely. The big effort would not pay if 3 days late release a new WinDVD/PowerDVD with such function - U R nerver sure.

2) you can install some SVCD DShow filters (they're even here in SW section) and use DVobSub to load subtitles

We must say, you cann't really enjoy the DVD without comfort.

Not to mention that this is really a petty thing to be upset about. But anyways, let's look at it from another point of view:
"perhaps in the next version(5.0) or never". IMHO means that it's quite probable that this feature will be implemented, but you're not 100% sure about it (about 70% probability that it'll happen).
While I think that "I really doubt that WinDVD/PDVD will ever do such things" means that there's virtually no chance of it ever happening (about 2% probability). I see quite a big difference in there.

(there are feathers somewhere? Except Final Fantasy: the spirits within, I don't know about a DVD with feathers. Maybe Hitchcock's Birds ^______^) and I'll completely agree with you. The thing is, that most SVCDs don't have these features, so you don't lose anything. SVCDs are a format in which ripping groups release DVD copys, but htat's about it :)
And speaking about DVDs is something completely different. They're supported by DShow DVD Navigator filter, so you can play them with MPC and use VobSub to subtitle them on the fly with any subtitle format you want...

Well, I usually made SVCD with audio menu, extra and so on.
I usually put also 2 or 3 cvd subtitles strems and 2 audio if avaible.
If PDVD or WDVD will implement such a thing (CVD / SVCD subs)...

Well... do U know why BSPlayer and DVD subber can't display (playback) my burned SVCD?
They play correctly the MPEG file before it was burned on the CD, but once it is on the CD they don't play it anymore.

in practice, "perhaps" means "unlikely"/"very unprobable", less than "may be"
So "perhaps in the next version(5.0) or never" means that there's only a littel chance of it ever happening. Your statement means the same.

Here you see, I mean "DVD". Sorry for your misunderstanding.
But I, just like ToToRo_Ita, do make SVCD with menus, subs, multi-audio etc.

2) unfortunately, I don§t know of any way how to force different DShow filters into WDVD/PDVD graph. And since they're the only media players supporting SVCDs (partly...), I guess you don't have any choice at all. You can try the MPC player, but I doubt it'll open SVCDs (I don't have any SVCD here with me now to test it...)

Ad menus, subs etc. on SVCD: yeah, it IS possible, but I never found it worth the time spent. First you spend a lot of time just doing it, and then it won't work in half of SVCD players, because the structure is too complex for them (Philipses are a good example).
And speaking of SVCD's subtitles - there's still no way how to show them on computer, right?

There are no software players supporting SVCD/CVD subs. SVCD is an excellent format for standalone playback (if you have a decent player), and that's why I like it (not for playback on computers). And htc seems to be longing for a strike ...

Actually there is a way to watch SVCD-s in DVDSubber and using external subtitles from text file with time marks.

Unfortunately, you can not use subtitles from SVCD itself as well as SVCD chapters, but it works.

Yeah, there are myriads of ways how to EXTERNALLY subtitle a SVCD disc... but that's about it :(

Thanks God! I'm not worried any more - not all english teachers in Czech are so bad like that. And "perhaps" nobody is undernourished too.
