Subtitle for DVD

I am wondering why to make subtitle for DVD we cant put the timing what we want for maestro.
It's approximative.
Somebody can explain me how it works ?

u have to be more specific about what u want to acheive.

if it is allready cantained subs in DVDs u will find more than u ever expected in doom's site about subs, ripping and using them.
