Hello.

Some days ago i discovered that it was possible to get the subtitles streams from a DVD with smartripper, and then came to my mind if it was posible to make a subtitle file in plain text (srt, sub, etc) from those files without using OCR (I mean, when we play DVD movies the player translate those streams to text that overlays in the movie). Is there any program that make this translation using those subtitles streams files?

Hope i explained my self clear :)

ok.

I have the .idx and the .sub files. But now i want to convert them to subrip format (or any other plain text). How can i do it without using OCR?

Maybe i'm looking it in the bad way and the subtitles in the DVD are stored like images and not like text, so there is no order way than OCR. Is that right?
