@Emp3r0r
using a char array instead of a string array fixed this problem

Hi there,
in 2.50 I've changed more than usual.
Basically I tried to make the program more
userfriendly. I've made also new Screenshots.
There are new features and there is a lot
detail work in this one.

@Dolemite: How much do you know about "Resources and Localization Using the .NET Framework"? Have you read the tutorial? If you have the .NET SDK you can find it here. (ms-help://MS.NETFrameworkSDK/cptutorials/html/introduction_to_resources_and_localization.htm) Do you release DVX in two languages?

I will take a look into it, what about you?

@ Dolemite
Maybe I'm too dumb and haven't figured out how it can be done, but how do you tell DVX in which directory to place the ouput files? If it can't be done, could you please, in forthcoming version, add an option to specify output directory other than where the source files are located?
Thank you!

@parsifal
changing the function that does encoding and muxing would be problematic because there are so many possibilities, some tasks need only VirtualDub or VirtualDubMod, some muxing with Nandub or VirtualDubMod and some OggMux, would a folder browser option in the DVD2AVI menu be OK or what was you thinking of?

Hi there,
because of a lack of feedback I tried to make DVX
easier to use. The new version has support for
language files. Currently there is a english (poor)
and a german language file but I hope I find some
people to add more languages. There is a language
file editor with a lot features so translation
should not be too hard. Then I have improved the
help assistant so high quality encodings should now
be possible for not very experianced users because
the help assistant tells always what's next or whats
wrong. I also try to support my tools better
so I've restructured my board.
Enjoy

hi,
and thank you very much for the nice piece of software. i hope you never stop working on this program.
i have a suggestion for you: my problem is that making tv-recordings over my VIDAC card i always have advertisements in my movies (series) and i want to get rid of them. is it possible to make part encodings in dvx what means that i could make cuts in the movie (like in vidomi ---> do you know vidomi?) and the parts would be encoded through dvx and after finishing this job merged together (and without adverts)...
i hope you can help me
thank you very much

cutting with VirtualDub already works. Invoke VirtualDub
and use Delete selection to delete advertising. Which
tool do you use to demux, DVD2AVI, PVAStrumento or what?
You should try to use PVAStrumento? Probably it can't
work with all streams, but with DVB mpeg's, it works
much better than DVD2AVI.
i hope you never stop working on this program.
I'm quite busy atm, I flipped the concept, lazy people and newbies will find everything on the main form in Version 3.0. Version 3.0 will be a lot more userfriedly. For people that like to play around with expert stuff there will be more than 20 forms (already working :p). There will be a non public betra test soon. If somebody want to test, let me know

hi dolemite,
i am one of the lazy people... :-) i know that i could do this with virtual dub (and iīve done this before) but i was searching for a possibility to do everything in one way. (like vidomi does) but if i do this in virtual dub (which cannot read mpeg2 (this are my recordings with VIDAC)) i have to do so many things in order to begin the encode. i used vidomi for a long time and it is a very nice simple program but the de-interlace filter is crap and i neet this one everytime i encode a movie from tv.
hmm i hope i could demonstrate my laziness to you ;-)
Thank you very much

I mean you invoke VirtualDub from DVX and do than only cut settings with delete selection or other settings and close VirtualDub. DVX uses than the settings made in VirtualDub

@wunschkind
how can i change the programs (or folders for them) like dvd2avi and virtualdub and so on in DVX.
if a program is missing DVX will ask again for it, you can also edit the registry. In 3.0 it will be possible to edit the paths in the settings dialog. Look out for 3.0 beta in my board, first beta release is near. I won't post to boards except mine about 3.0 until the final release.
@all
I'm looking for translators and guide writers. The upcoming version features a language file editor for easy translation. If anybody thinks DVX 3.0 could be useful program and is willing to help, please contact via Email, PM or at my board

Hi everybody,
version 3.0 is almost finished, we are still looking for translators (currently french, english, german and spanish in the making) and experts for testing. I've made some screenshots to give you a idea what's 3.0 about. Latest Release Canditate can be found on the download page.

i was trying ur program... but i hv got some error!!!!!
Using the latest DVX from ur site, isntalled .NET Framework(should i install .NET FW SP2, where can i get this???) and all other programs.
when i open the VOB, DVD2avi converts to dv2 and preview window pops up with error: msvcrtc.dll(something wired like this) is missing, reinstalling the appli may solve the problem". This happend once, other preview checks had all black preview...
compression test err: cannot write log file" ????
any reasons???

Looks like DVD2AVI has been compiled with Visual C++. That missing DLL contains the C runtime library for this compiler.

I don't have this dll on my system, strange. Which program causes the error?

If you have installed a filter pack like nimo, you have no to face several problems, you can read about it here http://www.planetdvb.net/board/index.php?act=ST&f=22&t=31&st=195

@Dolemite
hi resolved it, before checking for compressability, u hv to check and select codec setting, after this id didnt get the error "couldnt write log file", the other missing dll err got resolved by deleting the imagesequencer.dll from the avisyth plugin dir, there is thread discussing about this in avisynth forum.
Now iam struck with one prob:
i hv an avi (captured with TV card) source with mono pcm audio 16bit, when i convert to divx, video is fine, but prob with audio, vbr mp3 audio sounds very fast and funny @ all bits rates(96,112,128,160) !!!!... coule be because of mono WAV file, can any1 give me the correct bsweet+lame cmd line ... i fell bsweet or lame assumes stereo as default.
sug: I feel the codec windows is hidden deep inside, should be accessable easily, u can rename the option tab in toolbar to codec setting or hv a saperate Codec tab, so user will easily set the codec, otherwise users will forget to do, the same happened for, so i got the " couldnt write log file " err :)
thanks

@Dolemite...
what about the command line for bsweet,lame to handle mono wav file form avi ?????, getting the wav file and converting to mp3 manually converting using cmd line works fine, no funny sound.....
looking for cmd line for avi with mono wav file...
Moreover when i open the avi file, in preview window the movie looks BLUeiSH(red colour is missing), am uisng avisynth 2.5, vdubmod and necessary plugins for 2.5.
But ist ok with vob file, no such colour prob, when i check for noise filter, i get an error in the preview (convolution3d supports fo yu12 only, error @ line 5) where line 5 in the avs file is convolution3d filter, when unchecked it works fine, i hv this plugin in avisynth plugin dir and pulgin path set correctly....
any idea how to resolve these!!!!
Thanks
