Hi, folks.

I've been trying for, about a week now, to figure out on Earth to get these subtitles to display correctly, but I cannot for the life of me figure out how. Can someone give me a basic step-by-step process on how the subtitle window in Gordian Knot is laid out, and how to align the subtitles? I've gone through the doom9 guide, but I am having trouble with the finer details.

What is align for? What am I aligning to? Can I preview somehow? I am completely lost.

Hi-

OK, I'll give it a shot, although there's not much information there. I'll assume you're not seeing any subs at all, is that correct? OK-here's what you do. Go to the Subtitles Tab of GKnot-Go to Configure-Go to Open. These are things you've already done countless times, right? Now, here's where I guess you went wrong. You kept that Files of Type VobSub Files (*.idx,*.sub) and started clicking on what you saw above. Instead, use that little down pointing triangle and open Ifo And Vobs, for creating idx/sub (*.ifo). Then click on the .ifo that you see above. Point to where you want the created subs to go (put them in the same place), highlight the language you want, and hit the Crossed my Fingers thing. And the rest is History, I hope. As for alignment-I find that sometimes the subs play too high on the screen. Over on the right is the red box-if you want to lower the sub position, increase the "y" position to 30 or 40 or so. Don't mess with the check marks under the colors.

To preview, when you create the .avs in GKnot, check the VobSub box, Doubleclick the .ifo, and hit Preview. Scroll ahead and with any luck you should see them.

If I've misunderstood something, then ask again more specifically.

Ah.. success. I guess all I really needed was that preview function. Many thanks.
