Predicting VobSub file size

Is there any way of predicting VobSub subtitles file size? Raw and RARed?

Sure is. Extract the subs, see how big they are. Then rar the subs and see how big they are ;). Seriously though, what need is there for prediction? Just extract/rar the subs before encoding the video, then you'll know how much room to leave.

In average one subtitle is around 2-4 kbytes. You can mutiply it by 1000-1500, the number of subpictures in a language, and by the number of languages you're ripping. And after raring you have a good chance for a 1:10 compression ratio.
