hiya,
does anyone here know a lot about TextSub that comes with VobSub
I've been using it to filter ssa subs in vdub, since it has many nice scripts to come up with kew effects for the text... such as fading and moving text...etc...
my question is that, are there any guides to ALL the effects available in textsub? because i've seen many fansub with wierd effects that i'm not sure what commands they used in the ssa (zooming for example). o_O
..or maybe is there's a hacked version of textsub? cuz i combed through all the source files from vdub site and found no trace of new effects. ><
any help is appreciated!!!
thx

TextSub is just a plugin for VDub that allows you to encode any text file that VobSub.dll supports.. but if you are looking for some information about what ssa supports or advanced ssa look at the ass-specs.doc in the docs folder where Vobsub was installed..

I've done a little bit of fansubbing, but I'm no expert, so weigh my words accordingly.
Most encoders I know of use VirtualDub's subtitler plugin to process their .ssa format subtitle files. I know for a fact that the subtitler plugin will support all the extended bells and whistles such as karaoke, text zooming, etc. I have no knowledge of the full capabilities of the TextSub avisynth plugin.
If you want to know how to use all the .ssa bells and whistles, I don't think you're asking in the right place. Personally, I don't know much about .ssa.

hehehe yeah i kinda noticed this place is mostly dvdripping-related, but worth a try! :)
thanks for that ass-spec tip shultz!
Well i've asked this before but since i was not answered i will ask again and this time maybe someone will help me out with this...
The same question KimonoGrl had i have... but i've read the specs doc... and found it a little bit too straight forward... i need something a little more "complete"... what i mena is something a little easyer and with a few examples... can someone help me out with this? Cuase i could use some help here with the ass specs!
I already use a few features... but this new drawing ones... wowowow... way too much for my understanding and the curend docs are too much sintetic (<-- spelling).
Thanks in advanced.

I am not sure if this is what you are looking for.. but i attacked a demo.ssa script (its posted as demo.txt) its from Avery Lee who wrote the Subtitler plugin.. It demonstrates alot of the features of ssa.. So hopefully this is what you wanted.. Also TextSub uses one of the classes outta Subtitler plugin and so its based off of it for its ssa features.. it just alows for other text file inputs also..
thanks a lot Schultz... will check it out as soon as the mods make it available... i dunno if thats the thing... but what i'm looking for is the new Advanced ssa specs help... well a more detailed help that the one that comes with it :)
Again, thanks for your help :)
@kimonogrl: well tthe docs will help u do the zooming and movement things with teh subs... i've been doing this for some time now... the only "problem" if i can call it that... is some advanced fetres that might require a really big script to work... wich could only be made if one knows the specs very well... and this new feature taht sems to be very promissing but very undocumented :(
For "simple" effects like the ones Anime-Fansubs and someothers are using i might be able to help u out... i'm on the fansub scene too :)
Matta.
