Dual language avis and DirectVobsub

Let's say that i have an avi file named movie.avi, which contains two audio streams. I use graphedit and create two new files, lets say english.avi and french.avi, in order to select the language with windows media player. Now i consider the subtitles files for the movie. Should i name them movie.idx and movie.sub, or english.idx and english.sub (or french.idx and french.sub) ?

why bother?! use BSPlayer or ZoomPlayer to play your dual language AVIs -.-

The only problem is that any other player than windows media player 6 doesn't work properly on my computer with divx 5 combined with Dvobsub : it plays choppy even if i do what gabest says in his faq (turn off fade in/out, transparency and smooth image, and change the prebuffer option), so i don't know what else to do than use wmp 6.

What i would do personally is install ffdshow and use this as your playback filter for Divx5 instead of using the Divx5 filter. But also if you wish to try with other players you might wanna open the Divx5 directshow and turn off the double buffer option,noise, and post processing off.. i know they default install post processing to 4.
And to your original question. You can also input DirectVobSub into your Graphedit files when you save them.. So you then don't have to worry about what the name of the VobSub files are.. Just have it saved in both of your graphs.. Another option if you install Morgan Stream switcher you can use the Language menu of Wmp6 to change the audio in the avi file.. So again no need for the two graph files..
