Macroblocks in subtitles

I'm doing some fansubs, encoding the files with nandub, using the subtitler plugin. While watching the encode, I find macroblocks screwing the subs up. I can solve this problem by editing an *.ecf file, forcing a keyframe.

Now my real problem appears when I do a new encode, using the *.ecf file. A keyframe is forced, and that line is fixed, everything seems fine, but while watching the new encode, I find a new line, with macroblocks, that weren't there before. Repeating the process, will only fix one line, and mess another up.

My question is this. What's the best way to avoid macroblocks in subs?

Sure, just use the search button and also check the DivX3 forum 'cos your problem is with nandub and not the subtitles.

BTW the answer is use anti-shit! or change your script colors.

This is a problem with the div3 codec, not with your subtitles.

FWIW, I found that applying the subtitles and then applying a softener before encoding the frame would reduce the incidence of macroblocking; however, with the current state of video codecs xvid or div5 would be a much better choice.
