View Full Version : VobSub subtitles way too early

I've got a nice collection of MicroDVD .sub files, all perfectly aligned with their respective .avi's (when using MicroDVD to play)

However, when VobSub (for DirectShow) is installed, and the subtitles are automatically shown, they are permanently out of sync (this is true for MicroDVD, WMP, Zoomplayer, The Playa etc.)

Kinda mysterious to me, since it is the same .sub files.

Does anyone know how to make .subs in-synch when using DirectVobSub?

Even with v2.15? (http://vobsub.edensrising.com/get2.php/DVobSub_2.15.4.exe)

2.14 had a bug and played everything at 25fps.

Nice to hear someone is up to date. You're quite right, I'm using 2.14, was'nt aware of the 25fps-bug. Thanks for the tip.

How is it that 2.14 played everything @ 25 fps? I've used it for a long time and everything played fine, I'm sure cause I'm used to check both the actual fps the file's original fps.

May be you didn't use microdvd format that frequently, or which you used belonged to a 25fps movie.

I'm trying it right now: 2.14 - 23.976 fps AVI - Microdvd sub file - Zoom Player says ~23.980 fps! (Or maybe ZP is fooling with me?)

And what does dvobsub say on its OSD?

25! :) So maybe ZP is wrong, that's weird.

Or may be not. Remember the bug in 2.14 :) It will always show and use 25 to calculate the times from the frame numbers.

But now that I see, 2.14 is synched and 2.15.4 is not!
