help with .sub files!

Hey,

Does any body can tell me how to add a subtitle that comes with sub extension. I downloaded from the net, but there´s no way I can index it. I wasn´t able to find a guide which teaches you to index the subtitles when the .avi is ready and compressed. I just can´t get it right, maybe I´m doing something wrong with virtual dub...!:confused:

i think u asked about it having a sub file and a already encoded avi.
Well,u cant put permament subtitles in the movie anymore without reencoding again.U can use i think vobsub to play the subs as external subtitles with the option to turn them on/off(i am not sure about that because i dont use it).For sure u can use ffdshow which has also the ability to play subs or divxg400.

use BsPlayer or DVobsub just watch is your movie is at the same framerate as your subs or you can have the subs after the audio or video.
PD the subs and the AVI must have the same name
EX:
movie.avi
movie.sub
