Hi all,
I created an avi and now I'd like to view the subtitles showing the dialogues in 'outer space' languages, and only these, just like when I watch the DVD. I found an option in DirectVobSub (and in the .idx file) that seems to be close to what I want: 'show only forced subs'. But obviously I was wrong: now no subtitles show at all. Can anyone help me ?

This option should work.. Unless the forced subs that are showing up are in another Sub Stream then the one that you ripped.. You might wanna try ripping them all if you didn't and see if you can get it working that way.. Also is this R1 release you working with?

Yep,
I finally found the correct subs in another stream. It has nothing to do with the 'forced subtitles' option. Maybe other movies have a mark for the subtitles that have to be forced within the normal subtitles.
This dvd has 6 subtitle streams of the same language. For the following movies I will switch to extracting only the one I need - after I found out which on it is :)

yes you are right.. Some DVD have some subs marked and are always showed when they are played back.. But it seems as you pointed out that it didn't.. well glad you got it to work for you then..

I'm having the same problem (see post http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=25920) except that I need to burn the subtiles into the Divx4 image. Has anyone successfully done this with EP1? I can get it to work fine with all subtitles (the first selection in the subtitles list), but can't get it to work with the third, which is the "alien" only subtitles.
