DVobSub & DivXG400

Hello,

I have a Matrox G550 video card in my movie-computer, and to play NTSC-movies smoothly on my PAL-TV I need to use DivXG400 to speed up the movie to 25fps. However, I recently noticed that DVobSub stops DivXG400 from loading. I don't know exactly which version did it, but they have been working for me side by side previously.

Does anyone know what the problem is, and if there is anything one can do to make them work together?

For now I have to use DivXG400 to display subtitles on NTSC-titles, but I would prefer to use DVobSub since the quality of the subs is far superior with it. The best solution would of course be an option in DVobSub to speed up the movie to 25fps, but I have know idea how much code is required to do that...

It is easy to change the playback rate (3 lines of code), but it is a huge pain to add the user-interface supporting things. I check if I can find some place on the ppages ;)

Thanks in advance, that would _really_ be great, would solve all my problems... Well not all of them, but all that concern subtitles and framerates. ;)

I just wanted to thank you for introducing this feature. Unfortunately, I have just swapped cards so that my movie-computer now has an ATi All-In-Wonder. That means that I can not check whether your implementation helps the Matrox-problem. However, surely there are some other Matrox-users reading this who could give you a hand.

I read that the feature was experimental, but I still wanted to try it out. I set it to 25fps and played an NTSC-rip. The value changed back to 23.976 automagically. I guess this is what you meant when you wrote that the other filters have to co-operate. The movie I was playing was a DivX-vbrmp3-rip, so I was using ffdshow to decode the video and the standard mp3-filter for decoding the audio. No other special filters are used.

However, I also experienced something really weird. I left the setting at 25fps, and started watching a Friends-XviD-OGG-rip with VobSub-subs. After about 5 minutes I started noticing that the sound sounded weird, like it was slowing down... After a while I even noticed it from the video, everything went in slow-mo. It got gradually worse, and when I checked the setting in DVobSub it now was set to 21.xxx fps... Is this an issue you are aware of?

Perhaps you could consider contacting the author of DivXG400? The development of his filter seems to have more or less stopped, so he shouldn't mind helping you include his code (which has proven to work well) into DVobSub. Unless of course it somehow breaks something else in your filter.

It was checked. But, sorry, forgot to mention, the clip _was_ already 25fps so nothing should actually have been changed.
