When i go into Gknot, and click the configure button on the subs tab...it tells me that it can't load vobsub.dll, and that a device attatched to my system is not functioning...this sounds VERY weird, since it was working fine just last week. I cleaned out my HD and got a new one, and then reinstalled windows and everything, using the same setup file i did before, now i get this error....help please? Sorry if this is a question that was asked before, but i did a few searches and couldn't find anything relating to this matter.

What version of GKnot are you using? Because i do know older version of Gknot looked for Vobsub.dll in Gknot's program dir and not the system folder like vobsub 2.x puts it..

I'm using the gknot .21 beta version......though that still shouldn't be a problem, as i've used the same install a few times before and that's worked fine....

Right off hand i can't remember the Gknot versions.. but you might wanna try putting the vobsub.dll file outta the system/system32 dir into the Gknot dir and see if you get the same error. and if it isn't in your system dir then i think you found your problem.. other then that i am also open to what could be wrong.. also might wanna try latest version of vobsub install at http://vobsub.edensrising.com

Yeah, it's in my windows directory, and i've tried putting it in my gknot dir...that didn't work. The thing that gets me is the fact that the install worked 100% fine last time i used it....and the only thing ive changed in my entire system is i got a bigger HD.....same drivers for all my hardware...same version of windows etc....

thanks for helping me so far, and for that link....turns out i have a really old version of vobsub....so what i want to know is can i use a new version of vobsub with my old package of gknot? or is there a completely new package of gknot floating around that i don't know about.....

Yea that is weird.. And yea you can use a new version of VobSub, the syntax or anything that would mess up GKnot has not changed.. And if installing the new version or the old one don't work then you might wanna try posting in the Gknot forum and see if there has been problems like this before or what not..
