In MKVToolnix 63.0.0 x64, if I mux Song.mp4 and Song.Lyrics.srt, I get Song.mkv with two entries in the Subtitles Stream Selection:

subrip
Lyrics

both of which when selected give the same result (enable the song lyrics as subtitles).

How to get rid of the "subrip" entry?

TIA

How to get rid of the "subrip" entry?

Probably there is no way to get rid of "subrip" completely (for this type of subtitle) but this helps:

1. Simply specify Song.srt rather than Song.Lyrics.srt

2. Open MKVToolnix, add Song.mp4 and Song.srt and mux

3. In MKVToolnix, select Song.srt, enter "Lyrics" for Track Name and specify no "Default track" flag

You end up with a much cleaner single entry of "Lyrics [subrip]" in the subtitle track selection. :p
