This is just a proof of concept using HTML, CSS, and Javascript to render styled and animated subtitles. Currently only works with IE11 and recent versions of Firefox. There are three anime openings you can select in the top bar to demonstrate the different effects it can handle, and you can also open your own video and subtitle file. If you are not seeing any subtitles, reload the page and wait for the meter in the corner to reach 100% before starting the video next time.

Very nice, but I have to  at using a fraktur font that lacks German letters.

The original fonts for the subtitles were mostly used without proper licensing, so I replaced them with the best I could find on Google Fonts and Fontsquirrel for the demo.
