Ripping question, see what u think..

I've been ripping for a few years now, as most of you have, and I've finally run into a problem I can't solve....

In ripping Star Wars Episode I, I have no prob cutting the movie down to DVD-R. However, if you have seen the movie, you know that there are parts of the movie that the subtitles are necessary. (i.e.- in the store or when ani's friends are talking to him) Is it possible to rip the subs and only have them show up during these scenes and not through the whole movie? Has anyone had success like this?
Are these subs even included in the general subtitle stream?

Any help is greatly appreciated......

This post is kinda ripping related, but more so about subtitles. Hence the reason I moved it from the decrypting forum.

As far as ripping goes, you can extract the subtitle stream from the vob, 0x30 - 0x3F or whatever, but Im not sure what you can do with the file.

Hopefully someone here will be able to shed some more light on the subject.
