No, I don't plan to develop TX264 any further. Maybe bug fixes but not new features.

The problem seems to be with the subtitle muxing step. Did you try turning it off?

Ruriko

Oh it works without muxing subtitle but I want to mux the subtitles :(

I like TX264, with the main reason of not using it being when I want more than one audio stream. It has built-in 10-bit encoding (which can be a noticeable improvement on animation), but a really big thing it has over other encoders I can think of is the AAC audio options.

Maybe they exist, but I can't think of any other Windows encoders that can use QAAC/TVBR. Handbrake is close with now having FDK, though I think QAAC is better, and HB's FDK can't do VBR. (edit: Oops, I can think of one, but batch encoding is so much easier with TX264.)

Just some praise there, and a thank you.
Also, since I'm typing, I couldn't get TX264 to work on a different computer, and I couldn't figure out why. I couldn't find a solution anywhere. It wasn't encoding audio, and then it would encode the video, and then the file would error at the end since it never encoded the audio.

It was only doing it with QAAC. I installed QAAC separately, but it still would error. Installing Quicktime fixed it. Just thought I'd mention it in case anyone else has the same problem.

Do you have the following files in tools/x264 folder?
-x264_10bit.exe
-x264_10bit_64.exe
-x264_32.exe
-x264_64.exe
It's possible your download is corrupted. MD5 of 7z file is 75f7fcfd41e3c78dee9f34753c0f6956

TOM_SK

Yep, all the files are there and the MD5 is exactly the same - downloaded of course from SourceForge.
Just for fun I downloaded the previous version and used the x264 folder with the version 0.9.8.3219 and works fine.
Something is missing form the new build or the x264 r2479kMod is not compatible with the new version.

32bit x264's name should be x264.exe not x264_32.exe. I use 64bit PC so I didn't notice it. I'll re-upload the package. You can just rename x264_32 to x264.exe if you already downloaded it.

Great, thank you very much!

Hi, few issues with the latest version - 098:

1) Got an error:

[2014-10-28 19:30:57] Done video encoding with x264
ffms [info]: 696x480p 10:11 @ 3475/143 fps (cfr)
resize [error]: invalid sar `1.3:1.3'
mp4 [error]: failed to finish movie.

x264 commandline generated by TX264: --crf 21 --profile baseline --level 3.1 --preset veryslow --tune film --force-cfr --fps 23.976 --video-filter resize:width=640,height=480,sar=1.3:1.3,method=bicubic --output "<Temporary file>" "<Input file>"

The input video is a MKV, MPEG4 Video (H264) 696x480 (29:22) with DAR 4:3 and AC3 audio, subtitles and chapters

EDIT: the error went away after I disabled the option to set DAR in TX264. By mistake I enabled the option and set it to 4:3 not noticing the original already had that DAR.

2) I personally do not like that the stats that TX264 shows when encoding do not have any titles/description

Thanks for the new version!
The deconding of WMV files is working now.
Just out of curiosity, why did you removed the skins?
