i've got vobsub (sub resync?)as a google said it could add a delay but i can't see a single option on how to do this.

all i can see are open/save as/ reset timing and edit. reset timing does nothing as i can't see how to change them to begin with and 'edit' just lets me choose alignment, colours, font etc.

i did try the delay option in mpc-hc but it doesn't do a thing

Try BDSup2Sub (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=145277).

If you are muxing to mkv you can choose a delay in mkvmerge (GUI).

Some software players and pretty much all standalones do not interpret the delay flag from the idx file. Thus you actually have to add the delay to the items. In subresync simple enter the new timecode to the first item and all subsequent items will be shifted by this offset automatically.
