Hi,
I am looking for ways to sync a given PGS (or BDN XML) subtitle to another reference PGS (or BDN XML) subtitle. Whether the format is PGS or BDN XML, does not really matter to me since BDsup2sub can do the conversion. Some parts of the first PGS subtitle have wrong time codes, but the durations are fine. Also, it is in a different language than the reference subtitle, thus the clips do not match exactly.
Now, I realize that BDsup2sub can change time codes of PGS, but it is a pain to work with when you need to sync subs. In particular, it does not behave very well when you get overlaps during the process of changing the time codes.
I have tried Lemony and it puts both subtitle tracks within common time line, which very nicely visualizes how the time codes need to be adjusted to the reference ones, but as far as I understand, it only allows time code changes via manually typing them in for each clip. Unfortunately, it seems that you cannot just move the subtitle "blocks" to the left or right within the timeline GUI.
Downconversion is also not an option, because I want to preserve the HR image quality of these subtitles.
Thus my question is: is there any efficient way to sync or adjust time codes of PGS/BDN XML subtitles, e.g. something like time line GUI where one could simply move the clips to the left or right on the time line without altering their durations?
(I also have a pretty clear idea about an algorithm that would automatically make the subtitle adjustments properly, but I have zero idea of programming in connection with xml files.)
Thanks in advance for any input,
Marin
