My file : http://projetphp2008.free.fr/share/11%20-%20TF1%20HD%202011-08-21%2019-21-48.ts

(No virus it s a simple TS video)

Hi I'm trying to record TV from a DVB-T usb card, it works well, but i would like to "capture" close caption /subtitle.

I'm pretty sure that sub are image coded in my country.

TRY WITH WTV :
Normaly i'm using microsoft media center, i got WTV HD, and i cant extract sub :

I tried ffmpeg -> it show dvd sub but i dont know how to extract to a sub form.
I tried Graph edit-> i'm noob i dont understand :o

TRY WITH TS FILE
Ts file are more readable than wtv, I used projex X and load my video, i could extract a SUP file + ifo ;)

Nice, i tried to use OCR to transform it into .SRT file but i did not success.

I tried DVDSubEdit.exe, i could see from my human eyes the subtitles, but they were not cleat at all (grey background), the OCR cannot dettect anything.

I tried ccextractor gui, and it blocked at 99% no result.

I tried TMPGEnc Video Mastering Works 5 Trial (i wont buy this),
the progs found subtitle and propose to hard sub my video wih it, and it worked perfectly but i need soft sub like srt file.

SO if you can help me, my file is here (the start is jerky: http://projetphp2008.free.fr/share/11%20-%20TF1%20HD%202011-08-21%2019-21-48.ts

I coudn't open it in ProjectX H264 video but the info indicated all the streams. I then made a DVD of it with VSO ConvertXtoDVD and the subs were there. So a long way around but maybe you could extract the subs and OCR them to SRT from the IFO/VOB files easier than what you have already tried. And use them with the HD video stream? You can get a trial version of ConvertXtoDVD - puts a watermark on the video but I think the subs would be OK

ok i tested your soluion, so it would work, I uses SubRip with ifo file generated by the program.

At the beginging, it buged due to the two lines but after configuration it seems to work.

there is a problem with image sub, it s like they were interlaced so the ocr cant do a perfect work and i need to help it

as DVB subtitles are very similar to DVD You may try to use ffmpeg to change container from ts to vob
