Hi guys,

right now I need to do a mandarin subtitle.
I used to know how to do it. Now I forgot.
The source is a word file and I copied and pasted
it in notepad and save as UTF-8 format.
Then I opened it in subtitle workshop
and changed the language section in left panel
into Chinese Big 5 but the mandarin character
is not displayed correctly.
Anybody know how to solve it?
Thanks in advance. :thanks:

Subtitle Workshop doesn't support UTF-8, only legacy code pages (“GB2312” for simplified Chinese characters, “Big 5” for traditional Chinese characters, Windows-125x for Latin/Cyrillic/Greek/Hebrew/Arabic etc.). The text needs to be converted to “Big 5” before loading it into Subtitle Workshop.

There's a more recent subtitle editor called Subtitle Edit that supports Unicode encodings (like UTF-8 and UTF-16).
