Stalker 1979 can't get eng subtitles and russian sountrak

I tried using Avi-recomp and it did embed the eng subtitles. It also plays well with the media player with the russian music and soundtrack and english subtitles. However when I play it through my PS3 by disk it plays the movie with eng subtitles but no sound. Kind of loses the feel from this classic movie taken from the russian classic "Roadside Picnic". Any suggestions????

Stalkers appeared as a DVD9 IIRC, just add subtitles to it, either as DVD or as AVI/MKV (reports are that MKV files work on PS3 if renamed into AVI). Why did you just use an AVI as the source?

Sorry for this misleading info, I don't own a PS3, I heard it from a SAT forum where a PS3-owner said that everything he threw in was accepted as long the extension was AVI.
