View Full Version : 16:9 demuxes as 4:3...

I have a retail DVD on which the 16x9 flag has incorrectly been set to 4:3. I have changed it using IFOEdit and then demuxed the DVD, in order to add subtitles to it.

However, when I add the .m2v video file in Muxman, it shows as being 4:3 again (how does it know?!) This means that I can't correctly add 4:3 and 16:9 subtitles that will merge into one stream (if you follow me!)

If I just go ahead and remux it regardless, and then reset the 16x9 flag using IFOEdit again, the subtitle stream attributes are incorrect in PGCEdit.

Anyone come across this sort of problem before?! I hope I've managed to convey the problem I'm having!

You can fix the M2V with ReStream.

Any MPEG-2 file has a DAR stored within. Just use any tool, I think ReStream does (like Inspector.Gadget said), or DVDpatcher. IFOedit alters, as its name says, only the information within the IFO.
