Hi all,

I have the following problem: when I rip a BD I normally work with the MeGUI enviroment. I extract the necessary subtitles files with eac3to in SUP format. Then I convert them from SUP to IDX because the MKVmuxer (in the MeGUI environment) ask me for that type of file.

The final MKV file is perfectly visible in WMP, Nero ShowTime and WMP Classic too. :) and the subtitles work fine too!

But when I try to play it with my DVICO 6500 (http://www.tvix.co.kr/ENG/products/HDM6500.aspx) player all the subtitles are in black (instead of white) and many of them are blurry or totally unreadable.

I'd like to ask you if there is another way (maybe better than mine) to have the subtitles working with DVICO too . Or to get subtitles in another format (other than IDX) that maybe works better with MKV files. :thanks:

BDSup2Sub, which is the actual program I use for conversion, is very easy because I doesn't require manual correction of the OCR and that kind of stuff which is very time consuming!

TIA :helpful:

Have a nice day!

If you don't want to do OCR sub/idx is probably your best option. There are other hardware players that handle them fine, my WD TV (http://www.wdc.com/en/products/Products.asp?DriveID=735) for instance, so it's the devices fault. In general text subs (srt,...) are better supported in hardware. Do you have the newest firmware installed? I saw on the website that subtitle support was improved in some of the updates.

yes, I've downloaded and just updated to the lastest available firmware which is the v. 1.5.16 beta but the problem is still there.

But, as I download other movies in MKV format where the subtitles are displayed correctly even with DVICO 6500, I'm wondering if I'm doing something wrong with them despite the fact the WMP display the MKV file (and its subtitles) correctly.
