I apologize if this question is obvious, but after scouring the net, I couldn't find the response.

I want to create a custom button on my Harmony One remote that essentially toggles whether or not subtitles are displayed during a movie.

I used to use Media Player Classic and assigned the button to "Ctrl + W" but this no longers works because I am using DirectVobSub and Windows Media Player for all playback now (via Media Center).

So my question is, what shortcut will show and hide subtitles when using DirectVobSub for subtitles? If there is no shortcut, is there a workaround for what I am trying to do?

Hi!

Have you tried:

CTRL+SHIFT+C

to turn captions and subtitles on or off?

Yes, I tried that... that shortcut works if WMP is the program that is controlling the subtitles... it is actually listed as "off"...My subtitles are being displayed by DirectVobSub...

I found a program called Media Controller that seems to be working if I use ffdshow to display subtitles... all is well now!

Glad to hear that you found a viable solution ;>}
