Hi,

I'm trying to back up my Titanic Z2 DVD into a mkv (x264) file with MeGui. So far so good. But I'm getting troubles with the subtitles. I'm ripping them with VSRip from the correct PGC and VTS, and end up with 3 files:

VTS_01_0.chunks
VTS_01_0.idx
VTS_01_0.sub

Then, I mux everything (mkv, ac3 and idx) with MeGui using Tools --> Muxer --> Adaptive Muxer.

The video and audio are muxed correctly but even though it seems that the subtitles are detected, they won't show up!!

What am I doing wrong here?

How about using a more recent mpc-hc build? That build is ancient. If the problem persists, post a sample from the final mkv you created.
Also don't forget to use the latest development version of MeGUI.

I downloaded the latest version of MPC-HC but the problem remains. As for MeGui, I'm rolling with the 0.3.3.0 version.

Here is a sample of my muxed file:

Works for me using MPC-HC and Haali.

You need to use a renderer that supports subtitles.

True, I used the ffdshow render within mpc-hc and it worked fine!
