I wanted to know how to hardcode subtitle in an avi without re-encoding in realy very fast prossess.
I used a app "Avi Add x sub" it hardcord the subtitle in avi really fast in just 2 minutes and did not re-encode but its creat only Divx avi and the subtitle show only on Divx player and standalone Tv movie Divx supported player.
I want permanentaly hardcode subtitle on avi without re-encoding..

You can mux in subtitles using DivXMUXgui, which makes them available as softsubs that you can turn on/off with a software player, or even on DivX Certified devices (e.g. PlayStation 3).

The output will have a .divx file extension, but you can change it back to .avi if you prefer, and the video and audio tracks will remain untouched... just passed through to the new container with your SRT subtitle file(s).

You can use Mkvmerge and put the avi and the srt into an mkv container - if you streamer is a half new one it should play that without problem as well.
