Everytime when I want to force my subtitles for my DVD compilation in Scenarist, I need to do it in "Force Start" by clicking a tick one sentence by one sentence. It takes such a long time for the whole movie.
I don't know if there is any shorter way of forcing all the subtitles by clicking only one tick so that the whole subtitles will be forced then.
Is there anywhere step else in Scenarist or any software else used with Scenarist to do so? Any suggestion is welcome.
Thanks

Yes, just accomplish your task with normal subs. Then open the movie/stream/dvd with PGCedit, Now, find the movie on the left window and click on it. Look into the right window. You'll see a bunch of commands. Right click after last NOPE and add a new command. A new NOP will appear, double click on it and you'll get a new window. Choose alphabetically and SetSTN. Chose subpictures set to and the number of the subpicture . Save your work and you are done. The pictures you chose will appear automatically on the screen and you'll be also able to change them if you wish.

Big thanks for both of you guys :thanks:
However, I want to say that my DVD compiled from Scenarist has only MPEG2, audio and one subpicture (one subtitle), without any menu and chapters at all. It means that I can play the movie automatically. In this case, can I follow the steps you both give me so that my newly-compiled DVD will have a permanently-forced sub? Then, when I burn my forced-sub DVD to all of my friends, all of them will have DVD with permanently-forced sub.
I am not so sure if my condition of DVD compiled from Scenarist (without any menu and chapters) will comply to PGCedit. That is why I have to ask you again.
Thanks again for your suggestion.

Thanks for your suggestion.
I have tried doing what you have recommended me to do. In PGCedit, it shows that I can force my subtitles by using STN (I have only one subpictures or one substream for my movie). After finishing a process of forcing my subtitles and saving my task, I then open my forced-sub movie stored in my computer by using WinDVD. WinDVD shows that my movie has the forced subtitles and also doesn’t have any selection of optional subtitles on the right click. That is satisfactory.
So, I burn my film from that movie file stored in my computer by using Magic Burning Studio. Then, I get my DVD disc with a forced-sub movie. I then open it with my DVD player. DVD player also show to me that the movie has the forced subtitles and my remote’s subpictures button becomes disabled. That is also what I want.
But, when I open that DVD disc by using WinDVD in my computer, even though the movie subtitles of my DVD disc are still forced, it can be noticed that the selection of optional subtitles becomes available over again. This is very strange to me. Finally, I try checking the substreams in Doitfast4you, it turns out that substreams still has and my movie file of MPEG2 doesn’t have any forced subtitles embedded. This is not what I want.
All I want is to hard-sub my subtitles permanently and my DVD disc will not have any subpictures to be selected any more. I want my movie to include my hard subtitles permanently, just like other movies which have their forced subtitles, without any subpictures selection menu. I don’t want my DVD to have such subpictures available over again. In this case, I don’t understand why it tours out to be like this.
Anyone can help me over again to do so. Or else, did I make any mistake in some step of forcing my subpicture correctly.
Thanks

Yes, did You read what I wrote?
The pictures you chose will appear automatically on the screen and you'll be also able to change them if you wish.
If You wish permanent subtitles go back to PGCEdit same place as before, set to 0 and force sub 0 and You are done.
If You wish "burned in" subtitles You have to re-encode the movie and "mix" the subs with the picture. In this case the subs will be a part of the picture and will always appear no matter what the user wants. I never had this need however...

Thanks for your answer. :thanks:
However, can you tell me which easy-to-use freeware is needed to re-encoder and mix it with the picture? I want this need.
Thanks :)

Not so easy to use but free...Avisynth. Look at the forum there. I don't know of any other free prog to reencode.
Look also here: http://www.videohelp.com/guides?searchtext=&tools=77&madeby=&formatconversionselect=&howtoselect=%3B&orderby=Date&listall=1&hits=25&archive=0&search=Search+or+List+Guides
But, believe me...You don't want to do this. It's very time expensive, You must be expert in Avisynth, conversion and filters and the result will never be better than what You have now. Accept the fact that, if You only have 1 sub and You make it permanent with PGCEdit(as I wrote before) and, furthemore, You use the command prohibited subpicture stream change before You burn the dvd, NOONE and I repeat, NOONE will be able to change the subs unless the dvd is copied back to a PC and treated once again with PGCEdit

How are you creating your subtitles? If you just want permanently displayed subtitles, and you are importing a .SST file and images, just add this line to the SST file:
Display_Start forced
That will turn on that ForcedStart setting on all of your subtitles for you. So you might have this:
TV_type NTSC
Display_Start forced
Display_Area (0 2 719 479)
Color (4 3 3 4)
Contrast (0 15 15 15)
as the header of your .SST file.
Some software players aren't really spec compliant and might allow the user to override this... (Like PowerDVD allows you to turn two subtitle streams at the same time... stuff like that)
