i have a lot of srt subtitles that go out of sync gradually. i've red on many sites that this is due to different
framerate of movie and subtitle. i've tried to change the fps of titles (tried all possible combinations, e.g. 23,976 > 25) with
subtitle workshop, timadjuster and kmplayer, but it didn't work.

an option in subtitle workshop where you enter the time of the first and last spoken line is pretty inacurrate.

can you give me any suggestion pls?

If your subtitle script is simple (no advanced styling) you should be able to use the time stretch feature in SubRip.

Oddly enough, I'm in almost the same boat right now. Subtitle Workshop is close, but it loses the formatting in my ASS subs, so it isn't an option.

Unfortunately Aegis Sub doesn't seem to have the ability to stretch the timing/duration of the subtitles.

I'd really hate to have to write my own utility to do this. Any suggestions?

You could try Gaupol (http://home.gna.org/gaupol/).

I guess problems on subs like these arise when they are converted multiple times. I suggest you search for an other subtitle file on the web.

23 -> 25 -> 25, but the .sub file in the middle is assumed to be 23,..fps etc. This way inaccuracies occur and it is hard to reverse them.
