I came across a stange subtitle file that works flawlessly with DirectVobSub but is rejected by mkvmergeGUI. The contents look like this: {1559}{1657}Police Constable Nicholas Angel.|Born and schooled in London.
{1658}{1798}Graduated Canterbury University in 1993|with a double first in politics and sociology.
{1799}{1886}Attended Hendon College of Police Training.
{1887}{2009}Displayed great aptitude in field exercises.
{2010}{2086}Notably, urban pacification and riot control.
It has a simple .txt extension and no other info on the format. Does anyone recognize the structure?

As far as I remember this is MicroDVD format, use Subtitle Workshop to convert it to other format such as srt will do.
This format counts the frame number instead of time, so you must set the correct fps.
