Displaying subs shrinks the video in MPC

I'm having trouble displaying srt subtitles with videos. When subs are loaded the screen shrinks down so I get large black areas all around the video. Without the subs it plays perfectly. I've set MPC to touch window from inside + keep aspect ratio. For subs I use autoloading directvobsub external filter. What am I doing wrong?

Integrated subs in mkv files seem to work normally. If someone knows a way to integrate srt subs into existing mkv files that would at least eliminate the problem when playing mkv. ANY suggestion is greatly appreciated.

Use mkvmerge to mux subs into existing mkv files.
