Hi all,

Is there such a thing as alphabet subtype for language code? Some languages have multiple valid and complete alphabets that can be used intechangably. I looked at ISO standard language codes (up to 639-5 draft), but for instance there is only one entry for japan, so there is no way to differentiate it's 3 main alphabets.

Do I have to make up codes or is there some other standard governing it?

This is not of obvious importance to subtitles as they are used in media players and movies, but it would help me greatly in other uses I have for these files (help me differentiate and search them).

Thank you all.
