Is there a way (when ripping a blu ray movie only) to remux into the movie just the soft coded subtitles. By this I mean the english subitles that only appear when a foreign langauge is spoken. For example in Babel if you deselect all subtitles when playing the original disc it will still play these soft coded subtitles. But if you remux any of the english .sup files into a movie only rip you will get subtitles also when english language is spoken. Thx for any help

Either only mux the smaller English .sup or mux the smaller English .sup before the others. I'm not sure if the second method will work as I'm not sure what the rest of your process looks like. I don't think you can mux .sup files into .mkv and I know that the second method works in .mkv. If you are muxing to m2ts it might or might not work. At any rate, any container you mux to will afford you the opportunity to select the subtitle track you want. Just name the smaller one something like "English Forced Subtitles" so you know what to select.
EDIT:
Is there any painless way to get .sup's ripped from a BD into .mkv?

Sure, you can mux it into your MKV like any other stream. However, no player will be able to play it yet ;) You can either use OCR and go through all of it manually, or convert it to VobSub format, but with a loss of quality.

mkvmerge GUI doesn't let me select .sup files.
10) What subtitle types can be muxed into matroska? How can i play them?
currently SRT, SSA, ASS and Vobsub

Not true. MPC HC can now play them! :)
