You can try SupRip (http://exar.ch/suprip/) if you want to convert BD or HDDVD subtitle files. I've done successfully a couple of .sup to .srt with SupRip.

For Bluray subs, convert the sup file to HDDVD format with Supread, then convert the subs to vobsub format via SubtitleCreator.
For HDDVD subs, convert the sup file to vobsub format via SubtitleCreator.

You lose some quality on the subtitles using vobsub format but it saves having to mess around with OCR.

but what i have to do then to convert the subtitle to other format? After you load the .SUP file, look down to the lower right and click on "Run OCR". The procedure will take less than 1 minute (literally!). Then click on "Save as .SRT".

Or convert the SUP file to IDX/SUB using SubtitleCreator. Then you can easily open the IDX/SUB in SubRip to OCR to SRT format subs.

how can I open a sup file with SubtitleCreator?

I have succesfully converted from sup to srt (although some characters are wrong) but now I need to convert sup or srt to SUB

I need this to encode vob files to ipod classic format with subtitles, and the program I used ignore the srt file

There are two SUB formats. One is text, one is image (binary) and also called VobSub. SC can be used to generate VobSub files (Save As VobSub menu). To generate text sub, use subtitle workshop.

Tools->Manipulate SUP or VobSub, followed by Open Sub in the new screen (open the SUP file) and Save Sub (save as IDX/SUB).

Oh, there's a new version I missed? Thanks. Maybe dm devotee missed it as well if he had to ask how to open a SUP file.
