View Full Version : Subtitles not getting saved after getting ripped 100 % by subrip ..

title says all .. here is what happens ...

was working all fine till yesterday , today its doing this :confused:

also my subrip version is 1.50 Beta 4 .. help please :confused:

read the complete thread , so basically it isnt being saved as ANSI and gets done in unicode :/

well thing is from post no 10 [MA]Debito :

After saving the .srt/.ssa/etc, open it up in notepad and up hit "Ctrl+H". Once the replace text dialog box is open, simply enter your unicode character "à" (or whatever you have) in "Find What:" and put the right character "a" in "Replace With:".


it doesnt get saved that's the problem , how am i supposed to edit the unicode character into the normal character . . . ?


clicked save and there is no dialog box coming up at all. -> post # 12 by tomos .. exactly same as my problem :( . . .

i did do the vobsubs and here they are -> [removed] . . .

can someone please help me and convert this .idx into a .srt , thanks a lot in advance !

P.S : Just borrowed a friends chcksum matrix , lets see if i get any sort of error on that or not ....

Did you read the following post in that same thread?:SubRip constructs the default file name from the input .idx name, adding the language name and extension. If the language name is absent, some weird behavior may occur. It's on the list of fixes, no time to do it . Meanwhile, try to name the .idx -> "MovieName.idx", .sub->"MovieName.sub". If that doesn't change things, edit the .idx to add the language name (look on the web for the .idx file format).

Did you read the following post in that same thread?:


done , no use , still doesnt open (the .idx ) in subrip as a .srt :/

any other alternatives to rip subtitles in .srt ?

Congratulations on finding an alternative way to deal with your subtitles.

However, that doesn't in any way answer your original question regarding why Subrip no longer works for you...

well thing is subrip works all fine with all other sources except this one , probably because of the character's present as special characters , all other's work fine , also dvdsubsedit gave me the srt which is all fine so i can do w/e i want with it in subrip as well so i can live with it :p

and yeah this specific problem seems to be something which the coders/authors/developers of this wonderful utility have to work on:rolleyes:
