DirectVobSub v2.37 remote control

Hi! I'musing vsfilter in Zoom Player and the application comes with shortcuts to adjust the delay of subtitles. I map those to my remote and I'm a happy camper.

Now, I would like to use the internal player of Media Portal and the only thing stopping me from doing it is the lack of subtitle resyncing options in realtime.

I was thinking of turning off the internal visualization of subs and placing vsfilter in the post processing queue. But I would like to know how to remote control vsfilter when not using Zoom Player.

I suppose ZP uses standard calls that are supported by the filters, seeing how it's using the standard build for DirectVobSub and not a custom one.

Perhaps ZP handles the subtitle delay and not vsfilter? Such magic I would assume is created by the player, and not a mere subtitle rendering filter. You need to find out if the internal player of Media Portal is capable of delaying the subtitle stream. Perhaps it is not, and you will have to find another solution... Demuxing, manually syncing and remuxing? Finding a version of whatever it is you're watching with already synced subs?

From what I can see in Zoom Player, the commands you issue to the player directly affect the DirectVobSub filter. Once you add or remove delay from subs, if you open the DirectVobSub filter control panel you see the same values.
Hence why I was asking how this is done.

I believe that DirectVobSub makes ZoomPlayer aware of itself. This provides a means for ZP to then send messages on to DirectVobSub that it receives. I haven't looked closely at this code but I think that's probably it.
