convert .SUP to .srt or .idx ?

i have a .sup file and i want to get .srt or .idx subtitles from them , is this possible in anyway ? if so then please help me out , and no i dont have the .ifo and the original dvd , my brother just passed on what he had fixed i think so from vob blanker + pgcdemux :confused: :thanks: in advance !

Open the .sup file with DVDSubEdit and run OCR, save the .srt...open it to see if it's looks right. Hopefully you don't need to edit to much... ;)

well i think my .SUP is f00kd up itself as is the .ifo and the dvd itself , also got almost the same thing from subtitle creator , so it is probably the dvd which is screwed up and that is what i assume , but anyhelp ? :confused:

If you only got the sup file I have no more advice to give. But if you have the dvd you can extract the subs again using a different color table. That solves the same problem for me when I get the same output in DVDSubEDit.

If sub/idx is OK, use SubtitleCreator to convert your .sup file to .sub/.idx. (Tools->Manipulate SUP..., then save it as VobSub).

dude u cant imagine how fucked up this dvd is , it was authored in such a way that the order of the whole story(movie) was scrambled , but when burnt it plays all fine because it has been authored as such , the .ifo is the main problem , thats what my brother was talking about , he had to use pgcdemux+voblanker to fix that thing itself to get it into the right order , now the problem is that te subs are coming out as such , i even doubt there are subs on this dvd as even vobsub reports the language on the cell as unknown , whilst if there is soe language , ie english or spanish it should say as such :/ , so fixing the . SUP is the only option which i have , and now i dont have the original dvd too :s ..

What you show us in your message is a srt file not an idx/sub file. You tried to OCR it and it didn't work. However that was not my advice. My advice was just to convert it to sub/idx and I explained you how. You should get two files one .idx file which is a text file holding timing and palette information and one .sub file which is a binary file holding bitmaps. There is no reason it will not work.

well i did whatever you asked me to do , turns out that this source didnt have any subs what so ever , shitty source :/ that was just something corrupt in the .ifo which was showing sub stream => unknown on the dvd lol , the dvd9 was retailed without it , so guess gotta live without em , sorry for the trouble guys , i know m a n00b pain in the ass >_< sorry again :P peace !

Even if the OCR turned out like crap I can always see the subs.
