Problems with converting VobSub to SRT

I used Avidemux to convert VobSub (IDX + SUB) to SRT. I got problems with it. First of all, the file coding was incorect. I have to changed it to ANSI and after that use TimeAdjuster to fix it to readable state. Second problem was that subtitle lines weren't displayed long enough. There was no this problem in original VobSub. What went wrong?

I am not sure. Try to re-rip using subresync (vobsub package) or subrip.
Alternatively, subtitle workshop can extend the display time for srt subtitles.
