Adding subtitles!

Greetings,

Iam searching like mad to find a all-in-one program to add simple srt., sub or ssa file types to an Retail dvd " keeping menus intact etc "!!!

Currently ive to use 4 or 5 programms all together to achieve that whit succes so far. Wheter it is pal or ntsc i managed to do that so far.

But it takes allot of stepss to do it. Many of the other programs i tried either re-encodes the whole movie, or it doesnt retain the genuine menu from the retail and so forward!!!

I like to know if by now there exists an program wich can do these things all!?

Or an alternative!?

Are these subs from the original DVD or an external source? If they are from an external source, then you can't really keep your menu's "intact" as they won't point to your added subtitles. Unless you completely remove the originals and substitute these new ones instead.

So are these additional external subtitles or are these from the original DVD?

I dont understand the question/fuss about using external or original realy!!

I understand that they wont point to the add sub through menus, but once the movie play u can switch to ur sub!

I just want to make it clear that i dont want to add buttons in the original language menu from my retail dvd to add subtitle

Ofcourse i use external subtitles i pick up somewhere on the net, since some of my retail dvd's doesnt have subs in my language!! How else can i add subs in native language to my dvd whitout having them found on the net!?

Also, that link u gave me to videohelp.. Those guides helped me on my way but eventually i had to made my own guide to achieve wot i wanted so far from bits and pieces everywhere. Thats also one of the reasons iam searching an aio program to that stuff. Because every guide i came across has had its down falls eventuallly. Meaning, whit one movie it works great while other movies failed resulting in errors u see!! So, i had to come up whit a guid of my own!!

When adding a new subtitle everything is possible with free programs:
- adding a new subtitle and keeping all the originals
- modifing the original menu for the selection of the new subtitle

thank u for that link. But iam aware of that site and its guides. However, the guides seems so easy to aply but quiet another in practice!!! Long ago i tried that guide, but at that step when u need to convert srt sub files to sup through subtitle creator ive had a allot of troubles. LIke not beeing able to select colors like the guides claims u can, and conversion didnt go well too = allot of synchronisation problems. Also, the guide doesnt tell u to use dvdsub edit to select proper collors for ur subs after replacing the main movie through vobblanker. The guide lacks allot of stepps wich i encountered. Thats the problem of those different guides. It doesnt always do the things they state in their guides...

I think ill keep it in my way. Using dvddecrypter to demux, meastro for author, dvd meastro SBT for sub conversion , and voblblanker to replace and to maintain menu, and dvdsubedit to alter color of subs finaly. I know i lose some foreighn subs but i dont see any alternative. That is the only way i found to be relyable for bot formats NTSC and PAL!!
