See MP4 subtitles with VLC and MPC

Hello all.

I'd like to see subtitles embedded into an MP4 file with both VLC and MPC. Before writing this I've searched the forum but neither question 7 here (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?threadid=62723) nor this other thread (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=111249) have help me.

I've made the MP4 file with StaxRip and muxed the SRT subtitles using mp4box with this command line:
"mp4box.exe" -add "test0.mp4#1:name=Video:lang=en:par=8:9" -add "test0#2:name=English:lang=en" -add "test0.mp4#3:name=English commentary:lang=en" -chap "chapters.txt" -add "test0.English.srt:name=English captions:lang=en" -add "test0.Espanol.srt:name=Espa¤ol:lang=es" -new "test.mp4"

And this (http://rapidshare.com/files/62246388/test.mp4) is the file I got (1.8 MB). It works as expected in VLC but I haven't been able to see the subtitles in MPC. The Haali tray icon appears and the subtitles are selectables but they aren't shown.

I have in my system only the codecs from the K-Lite Mega Pack (which AFAIK includes the Gabest and Haali parsers) and what StaxRip installs. In MPC (View > Options > Playback > Output) I use VMR9 (renderless) and I also disabled the internal MP4 filter (Options > Internal Filters > Sorce Filters > MP4/MOV).

Does anybody know what the heck can be my problem?

No problem here...both subtitles are shown in MPC (after ~3s of playback).

By default in the Haali Splitter, subtitles are setted as none. You have to check this in the tray icon.

Oook. Then it must be something about my MPC. I already tried to select and unselect everything selectable in the tray icon so it must be something else :confused:

I've reinstalled the codec pack resetting all the default settings. After rebooting the computer I finally get the subtitles in MPC although they appear in a tiny Times font (I've also seen the plain text option in the usual green arrow tray icon. Now let's see if I can make it look better :)

You can adjust the font, size, and color (I think) in MPC's subtitle settings window. make em as big or as small as you like.

yes...and remove the K-Lite package and install the last ffdshow one (http://sourceforge.net/project/platformdownload.php?group_id=173941).
