These fonts are quite common in many DVDs I have, especially the second one.
Does anyone know what are the font names?

The first is clearly Arial, the second looks like Calibri, but is probably a predecessor of it...

I just looked, one odd thing is the lower center in the capital W, which Calibri doesn't have. I'm at a loss, all my resources don't have an exact match.
EDIT: Just noticed the lower case a. This would be a more unique feature of this font... I'm still looking.
EDIT 2: Ok, it would be nice if you could upload more pictures of the second font. I can't get it from that limited set of characters.

Appreciate your replies folks.
Since my XP doesn't come with Calibri, I installed the Office 2007 Compatibility Pack (http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=941B3470-3AE9-4AEE-8F43-C6BB74CD1466&displaylang=en).
The second one is similar to Calibri especially the italic variant but I can notice some subtle differences. In normal mode, it doesn't look like the ones from DVD..
EDIT: Here are more samples. Sorry I don't know how to set a transparent background.

Ok, I'm no font expert, lol, but this fails going through www.whatthefont.com because the characters are 'stuck' together, lol.
Going to try identifont to see if I can narrow the search down.

This seems to be the same font in HD resolution:

I really do worry about the well being of some people in these forums. As long as you can read them does it matter what the bloody font is !!!!

That new image posted is much better resolution, but the fonts pulled up for it still don't match the original. The problem still resides in the upper case W, which I haven't found a font where the center point is lower than the outer points... I just dunno!

It's ok arden. Don't sweat over it. :)
Unless some folks here work for big DVD production houses, I ain't really expecting to get the exact typeface. I do find that font very comfortable to read on computer and TV screens, and some of my 'clients' have asked me about the possibility of using that font. Since Calibri comes close I shall give it a trial run. Thx!

I do admit, Microsoft did a very good job with their new fonts (OH MY GOD, DID I JUST PRAISE MICROSOFT? SHOOT ME NOW PLEASE...)
Calibri is a very nice, softer alternative to Arial, I think. I will still use Arial/Helvetica though :p
