I've been trying to rip a sync'ed sub out of these DVDs for a week now. I managed to get sync'ed subs out of the first DVD, but I'm stuck on DVD 2, and 3 seems to exhibit the same behavior. I can get sync'ed sub for the first episode of the DVD (ep 5), but the next episode I just can't figure out. It's late by a little in the beginning really late at the end. It's not 29.97/30 fps discrepancy because by the end of the 24 minute episode it's only about half a second late.

I've tried quite a few things already. Updated all the softwares, ran the dvd through the entire ripit4me, just dvddecrypter, rip subs before and after DVD shrink vob consolidation, Subrip the ifo, the vob in its own folder, the idx + sub from vobsub, the sub by itself, idx + vob, tried VSRip, DVDSubEdit. DVDSubEdit seems to give me the 30fps timecodes since it ends about 4 seconds eariler. I also tried ripping just the chapters from second episode. Granted I haven't tried all the possible permutations of everything I listed so I'll try anything you guys suggest.

Except manual resync :p. When playing the DVD with mpc the reported runtime suggests 30fps and all the subtitles are very nicely sync'ed. When playing the ripped VOB it's 29.97fps. Video and audio stays sync'ed and as I mentioned I can get the sub of the first epsiode of the DVD sync'ed from beginning to end. Something messed up before the second episode begins and I suspect something messed up during the second episode.

I've read the first 10 pages of this sub forum and it seems that sync problem is quite prevalent. Is it just impossible to rip sync'ed subs out of some DVDs?

Thanks for any suggestions
