Ah, okay. when I downloaded the prog (on March/17) the actual version was 4.1.0.2, and the latest beta 4.1.1.0.

yeah, if you can manage to have a player that doesn't contain a watermark detector, and that you like, you're lucky. some pioneer do, some don't. or, you could just go HTPC, which is getting better all the time, especially this year for audio.

I find it frustrating that they've made it hard to back up your own DVD-As. or, disappointed that there's not been enough interest to defeat watermark yet.
You could back it up to a "mini-BD" on a DVD5 or DVD9 and play it on a Blu-ray player.

Could you describe in more detail what you're recommending? Are you suggesting formatting a DVD9 with BD file structure? I think I heard about this, but would love more details.

I have Nero8, could I do it with this?

Yes, a DVD5 or DVD9 could be formatted with a BD file structure making it playable in a BD player, using TSRemuxer: http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=96860&page=10

A late reply to this excellent list. You can add the Technics DVD-A10 (reviews: http://www.homecinemachoice.com/reviews/hccreviews/DVDPlayers/Technics/TechnicsDVD-A10.php, http://www.stereophile.com/digitalsourcereviews/300/) to the list. The excellent DVD-A10 was introduced for a whopping $1199, and is very hard to find these days on eBay due to its build quality, and PQ/AQ. Another difficulty: the player is very picky with burned DVD and CD media. It's doesn't accept some media brands.

If you want to go completely free, just use the raw libdvdcpxm tool to decrypt DVD-A and then extract the folder.

Does anyone know how to do that? I see that I have a series of files in "src/libdvdcpxm/src".

I don't have any DVD-Audio or CPPM protected discs to test this on, but it's interesting to note that the latest beta version of DVDFab HD Decrypter says it supports DVD-Audio & CPPM.

I wouldn't say DVDfab is bad. But as Far as AACS is concerned it support is almost non existence. It can only handle MKB 4 And 7 Disc. Even in that only some of them are handle. I am talking about version 6

I just tried the newest free version of DVDFab, and it crashes with an Error=103 when I try to do "DVD to DVD" on a DVD-Audio disc I have...as soon as DVDFab hits the AOB files in the AUDIO_TS folders, it comes up with an error.

What am I doing wrong?

You might want to ask the author/publisher "fengtao" (It's usually more effective to post such questions at the DVDFab forum, rather than here at the Doom9 forum).

I'd speculate that such capability was eliminated from the program due to the apparent demise of the format...
